Q: Where is the School of Divinity located?

Howard University School of Divinity is located in northeast Washington, DC. It is near the Brookland Metro Station and several Metro Bus lines. Within Howard University, it is considered East Campus because of its location in the city.
Q: What degree programs do you offer?
A: We offer the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Religious Education and Doctor of Ministry degrees.
Q: When are your application deadlines:
A: Our deadlines are Fall Semester: February 1 (priority), Spring Semester: October 1 (priority), and Summer Sessions: March 15
Q: Who is classified as a Former Students Returning (FSR)
A: Students who are not enrolled during the current semester (summer session not included), but who have previously attended Howard University are classified as Former Students Returning (FSR). http://www.howard.edu/enrollment/admission/fsr.htm
ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED
Q: What are the financial obligations beyond the tuition?
A: All new entrants to Howard University are required to pay a ONE-TIME ENROLLMENT FEE of $300.00. You are not an official student of Howard University until you pay this enrollment fee. By paying this fee you will be accepting your admittance to Howard University Graduate School. This is an out of pocket student expense that should be paid as soon as you receive your acceptance letter. Student loans or any other financial award money cannot be applied to pay this fee. This fee is paid to the Graduate School’s Admission Office and will have to be paid before can receive your PERMIT TO REGISTER.
This fee is required for all students, however if you have attended Howard University in the past, you have already paid this fee and will not have to pay it again. Q: How do I apply for financial aid?

Q: Do I have to attend Orientation?
A: Yes. At the School of Divinity orientation is mandatory.
Q: How do I get an advisor?
A: Your advisor will be selected for you upon acceptance, and will be introduced to you at the orientation. If at any time during your matriculation you wish to change your advisor you may do so by filling out the appropriate request forms found in the Student Handbook.
Q: How do I apply for Housing?
A: If you plan to reside in Howard University Student Housing, you must complete the attached Application for Housing form. Return the form and the $50 non-refundable application fee to the Howard University Office of Residence Life, 2401 Fourth Street NW, Washington, DC 20059. Q: Does the School of Divinity have its own bookstore?
A: No. The Howard University Bookstore supplies books for the entire university. It is located on Georgia Avenue near the main campus.
Q: How often will I have to travel to main campus?
A: New students may have cause to go on main campus more often than continuing students. The Johnson Administration Building, Student Health Center, Information Systems and Services (ISAS), and Howard Bookstore are all located on the main campus. These are just a few of the buildings with which you will become familiar.
Q: If I should have to go to main campus, what is the best way to get there. A: There is a university shuttle system. It’s schedule is updated on the Web site. Individuals may take public transportation, or drive themselves. Those who drive must find parking on their own. |
